1. Experience in wick drain installation and specialized equipment, such as stitchers. The stitchers, which are mounted track hoe(s).
2. Identify practices and conditions that are safe as well as those that are at risk and provide appropriate, on-the-spot corrective action if needed.
3. Check the adequacy of existing job/task methods and procedures.
4. Instructs wick drain operators in specific craft tasks including safety procedures and techniques.
5. Be knowledgeable of other craft disciplines in order to effect work coordination between crafts and to prevent jurisdictional conflicts.
6. Read and interpret blueprints, understand job specifications, implement Bechtel job procedures and work rules, and inspect finished work for quality and completeness.
7. May operate specialized machinery to drive wick drains into the ground for soil settlement. Operators to pass VOC on excavator and wick stitching equipment and drills.
8. Reviews wick drain installation plans, enduring systems are installed accurately on location and plumb.
9. Works with Site Survey on plotting of locations for wick drains.
10. Understand the work scope and integrate priorities of the project.
11. Understand work priorities and schedule.
12. Complete planned work on schedule.
13. Identify problems in a timely manner.
14. Take quick remedial action when work performed is not according to drawings and specifications, code requirements, or to quality of accepted construction standards.
15. Be familiar with cost control procedures and be committed to stay within established cost goals and unit rate standards.
16. Ensure accurate reports are submitted with regard to time sheets, back charges, quantity, and work status.
17. Typically has 6 years industrial construction experience with 2 years in supervisory roles.
