We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Accountant to help us scale our operations and support our financial success.

THE ROLE

Are you passionate about working with heavy vehicles and trucks? Hillery Group is seeking a skilled and motivated Tyre Fitter to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills will contribute to maintaining the efficiency and safety of our fleet. We will provide top-quality training and also provide opportunities to be a trades assistant to our talented diesel mechanics and fitters.

Key Responsibilities

Tyre Maintenance & Replacement:

  • Remove existing tyres and fit replacements using air-driven equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and assess tyre damage and wear to determine necessary actions.
  • Select the correct tyres, tubes, rims, and accessories before balancing wheels and tyres.

Technical & Operational Support:

  • Work on trucks, heavy vehicles, and light vehicles.
  • Support the maintenance and housekeeping of vehicles, plants and machinery.
  • Locate and assess future workloads based on required tyre changeouts.

Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Remove old and damaged parts, cleaning surrounding areas.
  • Carry out minor servicing and maintenance tasks, including greasing, pre-cleaning, and component changeouts.
  • Inspect tyres and repair punctures in both tubed and tubeless tyres.

Team Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Integrate with co-workers to ensure smooth workflow and support each other's tasks.
  • Participate in pre-starts, toolbox meetings, and communication/reporting requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork efficiently, such as timesheets, work orders, and vehicle pre-starts.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience in tyre fitting, particularly for trucks and heavy vehicles.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and a willingness to learn new things and expand your skill set.
  • Current MR Drivers' licence.
  • Forklift licence or willing to obtain.
