Trade Assistant

About us

SBP Australia is an industrial and commercial builder, and our on-site Steelshop is humming! We are looking for a skilled labourer or experienced trades assistant to handle and process steel and assist our team of boilermakers.

Our Steelshop team fabricates structural steel, racking, access components and a variety of metalwork items, no two days are the same. The Steelshop Manager has come up from the tools and leads a great team of Boilermakers and apprentices, who are always willing to jump in and assist one another.

We take our work seriously, but rarely ourselves. We have high standards, and we want to invest in training a long-term team member who is looking for a permanent, full-time position based at our workshop in Salisbury, Brisbane.

Who we are looking for

• Steel labouring experience / qualifications
• Experienced trades assistants
• Full-time role available, Monday-Friday with paid overtime and optional weekends

Key responsibilities

• Use hand tools, power tools and machinery to process steel products
• Read and interpret work orders and drawings
• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements

Qualifications & experience

The successful candidates must have:

• Experience in handling and processing structural steel, or the ability to learn
• Experience processing a variety of metalwork items
• Ability to work well independently and within a small team
• Current High-Risk Work Licence (Forklift)

The following qualifications will be considered favourably, but are not mandatory:

• Current Dogman ticket
• Construction White Card
