The Service Shop Foreman Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Salary Compensation of between $5,547.00 and $6,500.00. The position may also pay commission compensation which is based on the value or amount of closed hours achieved from $0.00 (if no hours are made) without any upper limit other than sales performance. The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit. |
Position Purpose
The Shop Foreman is responsible to ensure the quality of service work and fully utilize the resources of the Service Department. Major objectives of the Service/Shop Foreman are maximizing Service Department efficiency and productivity, training, coaching and supervising service technicians, and maintaining technical service facilities, tools and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Monitor Warranty Indexes.
• Develop new plans to improve efficiency in the shop (including part return policies and warranty department training).
• Assist with warranty booking/ refused claims.
• Assist technicians with technical issues.
• Assist and monitor repeat visit / comeback vehicles.
• Responsible to maintain personal tools and special tools.
• Personally repair vehicles when requested by Service Managers.
• Quality control every vehicle.
• Perform road tests with customers and periodic over-night road tests and answers any questions accordingly.
• Monitor “overtime” on a daily basis.
• Order shop equipment; schedule equipment for repairs and maintain / order / organize new tools / broken tool warranties and maintain tool room in operating condition.
• Sign off warranty repairs (brakes, add-ons, CPO repairs, and high maintenance index repairs).
• Maintain manufacturer required level of technician training; maintain technician A/C certifications; schedule technician training enrollments maintaining technicians RUA system.
• Maintain shop efficiency and productivity.
• Communicate with IT Department to maintain current software in diagnostic units.
• Conduct shop safety and roundtable training meetings; correct shop safety deficiencies / schedule quarterly safety inspection and maintain shop rules / issue safety reprimands.
• Complies with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety and personal protection equipment as required.
• Work with factory reps, engineers, and ZF transmission rep on vehicle issues.
• Monitor technician submissions to manufacturer on a daily basis.
• Assist and monitor non-returned warranty parts with technicians and parts department.
• Produce technician’s efficiency report accurately and timely every pay period holding technicians accountable.
• Exemplifies organizational culture and holds others in department accountable for doing the same.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and compliance with all state and federal requirements.
• Must maintain accurate attendance records “clocking in and out”.
• Adhere to work schedule and arrive at work before your scheduled start time and be at your work station productively engaged by the scheduled time.
• Adhere to established dress code policy at all times.
• Other related duties as may be assigned.
