Description

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Static Engineer (Oil & Gas) with suitable brownfield Oil & Gas engineering experience to join our Operations APAC (West) business in Perth, Western Australia.  This is a permanent role and is available as full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer and working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, Detailed Design), your role will be contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through the execution of assigned scopes of work and providing Mechanical engineering expertise to the business.

Working as part of an integrated project team you will be: 

  • Creating and reviewing designs, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables.
  • Developing a range of engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, and technical requisitions.
  • Meeting Mechanical engineering cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables.
  • Coordinating your own work schedule, preparing progress reports, and providing technical assistance to others.
  • Keeping your Lead Mechanical Engineer apprised of project activities, recommending changes in plans and estimated cost. 
  • Reviewing vendor documentation and actively participating in design reviews.

Qualifications

You will be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia. 

Suitably qualified in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution, ideally you will have 7 + years with relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry on brownfields projects within an Engineering / EPCM office environment or gas processing facility.

In addition, you will have:

  • In-depth technical mechanical knowledge – both design and operation.
  • Extensive design and knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian).
  • Ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles.
