Job Description
Reporting to the Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing technical safety expertise and support the implementation and delivery of safety improvement initiatives.
About the Role
Development, review, and implementation of HVO emergency management plans, procedures, registers, and related documentation in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
Leadership and mentoring of the site emergency response team (ERT).
Developing working relationships with all departments to ensure emergency information flows freely and accurately.
Develop and implement an emergency simulation program that maximizes learning outcomes and minimize the impacts of emergency events at HVO
Promote a proactive culture by engaging with HVO personnel, encouraging safety awareness, and providing support for safety initiatives.
Lead incident investigation and provide advice on the development of improvement opportunities and recommendations
Participate in the risk management processes across HVO
Analyse data, identify trends, and report on safety performance
Conduct and assist with HVO assurance activities

Monday to Friday professional roster
Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)
About You
Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (surface stream) or Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations).
Qualifications in Work, Health and Safety (Desirable);
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
Experience as an active member of external emergency services (e.g. NSW Ambulance, NSW Fire and rescue, NSW Rural Fire Service) (desirable)
Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
High level of emotional intelligence
High computer literacy;
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads, projects and conflicting priorities to achieve competing deadlines
Possess a positive disposition with the ability to influence and inspire others.
