Your New Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Risk Manager will play a key role in driving priority areas and will need to work cohesively with business stakeholders across the Member domain. This role requires leadership skills plus the ability to collaborate, as the successful candidate will work in partnership with functions across the Member domain and other groups across the Fund as required to achieve the desired outcomes. The successful candidate will also need to be capable of managing and working autonomously to help to ensure our risk eco-system is simple, effective and fit for purpose.

Some of your duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Demonstrate leadership both within the Risk team and towards business colleagues by proactively partnering with them to enable a robust approach to risk management.
  • Support the delivery and management of the control testing plan for the domain (including performing controls testing). 
  • Support risk enablement activities including capacity planning and change in risk assessments. 
  • Provide clear and comprehensive communication of key operational risk matters to relevant colleagues both in the Governance & Accountability team and the broader business as required.
  •  Develop and contribute to appropriate risk reporting/dashboards for Senior Management, Advisory Groups, Group Risk and Board Committees.

What You’ll Need  

  • 7 + years’ experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Internal or External Audit, preferably in the Superannuation industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Power BI experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and the ability work autonomously when needed.
  • Poise and ability to act calmly and ability to professionally handle confidential matters.
  • Commercially astute and the ability to offer pragmatic advice underpinned by sound risk management principles.
  • Ability to develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • RG146 competency with ongoing CPD (preferred but not essential).
