Role description: 

We are seeking experienced Project Planners/Schedulers with a strong track record in Aviation Infrastructure projects to join our Program and Planning Controls team. These roles are crucial in establishing and maintaining Program and Project Schedules, ensuring the successful delivery of aviation projects across Australia.

At Arcadis, our Aviation Schedulers play a key role in supporting clients by creating and managing complex schedules for the design, development, and construction of terminals, runways, aprons, and related capital projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of terminal assets and airside interfaces, coupled with extensive experience in managing project schedules throughout the planning and construction phases. Your ability to collaborate with capital teams, contractors, and various stakeholders will be essential in delivering the expertise our clients rely on for these exciting projects.

Role accountabilities:
  • Aviation Project Support: Assist the Australia Asia Pacific (AAP) Principal Planner/Scheduler in delivering Project Planning and Scheduling services tailored to aviation infrastructure projects, including terminals, runways, aprons, and related facilities.
  • Methodology Compliance: Ensure consistent application of approved AAP Project Planning and Scheduling principles and methodologies across all projects, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Master Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and monitor master project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 and MS Project. This involves creating work breakdown structures aligned with the unique demands of aviation infrastructure, integrating best practices, and delivering cohesive portfolio, program, and project plans.
  • Integrated Planning: Identify key interfaces within aviation infrastructure projects, promote and monitor critical milestones, establish and manage baselines, and oversee schedule coding and resource allocation to ensure fully integrated and effective schedules.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical guidance to clients and the Arcadis project team, leading by example to achieve company goals while championing a culture of quality within the aviation sector.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, ensuring transparency and alignment on all project matters.
  • Review and Audit Support: Participate in project reviews and audits specific to aviation infrastructure, including Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and quality audits, ensuring all schedules meet stringent aviation standards.
  • Program Risk Management: Assist the project team and client in proactively identifying and mitigating scheduling risks to prevent delays and ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education & Experience: A relevant tertiary qualification, with 3 to 5+ years of experience in Project Management and Controls within aviation infrastructure projects.
  • Scheduling Tools: Proficiency in Primavera P6 (V8.0 and above) and Microsoft Project (2010 and above), with specific experience in managing schedules for aviation infrastructure projects. Strong MS Office skills are essential for reporting and managing project schedules.
  • IMS Expertise: Proven experience managing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and detailed project schedules, with a focus on aviation infrastructure, ensuring alignment with project goals and metrics.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders at various levels.
  • Problem Solving & Analytical Skills: Expertise in critical path analysis and forecasting specific to aviation projects, with a strong ability to resolve scheduling conflicts and integrate timelines across multiple work streams.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong analytical and influencing skills are crucial for engaging with stakeholders, contractors, and capital teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives in a collaborative environment.
