We provide fully integrated environmental and social assessment and management services including concept and feasibility, technical assessment, consultation, approvals, delivery, operation, and decommissioning.

As we continue to grow, Umwelt is currently seeking to hire a highly organised and detail-oriented Project Master Scheduler to help streamline project planning and execution across our diverse portfolio of ecological projects.

As part of a leading environmental and social consulting firm, you will manage the scheduling of a wide range of projects for our NSW Ecology team, from fieldwork to office-based activities such as project management, analysis, reporting, and agency consultation. This newly created role will allow you to take ownership of establishing scheduling processes and systems that ensure project timelines, resource allocation, and Work Health and Safety (WHS) considerations are fully integrated and optimised. You will be scheduling work for project teams based in Newcastle and Sydney, with projects occurring across NSW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, covering fieldwork, project management, analysis, reporting, and consultation
  • Plan and schedule both fieldwork and office-based activities, ensuring resource allocation, WHS compliance, and alignment with project deadlines
  • Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with Project Managers to gather project details, resolve scheduling issues, and ensure alignment on timelines and resources
  • Opportunity to coach and train Project Managers to optimise their scheduling and planning efforts, fostering a culture of efficiency and collaboration
  • Track project progress, adjust schedules as needed, and proactively manage risks to keep projects on track
  • Provide regular reporting on the status of project schedules and resource utilisation, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Provide advice to senior executives on project and program planning

Qualifications:

  • Project management qualifications (such as PMP, PRINCE2, or a relevant degree)
  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within a complex scheduling environment
  • Proven experience in establishing and setting up scheduling processes in a new or evolving role
  • Strong ability to manage complex project schedules, particularly those involving diverse activities across field and office environments
  • Proficiency in MS Project and the Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

We welcome candidates with experience in any complex scheduling environment who are eager to embrace a new challenge in ecological consulting. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to step into a key role and make a significant impact within our team.
