Job Description:

The Coffs Harbour Bypass is a 14-kilometre stretch of road that will bypass the Coffs Harbour urban area, from Englands Road in the South to Sapphire in the North and is a once-in-a-generation project for the Mid-North Coast community.

Civil Project Engineer positions have just become available with increasing project production! This position will see you manage all aspects of construction to ensure positive outcomes for the program, safety, cost and quality across the project. Liaising with the client during the delivery of your scope of work, this position will also have mentoring and coordinating the Site and/or Graduate Engineers in order to reach the project goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with design and construction teams daily and facilitate meeting weekly with all stakeholders.
  • Minimize construction risk by identifying control requirements and apply to scope of works.
  • Liaising and assisting in coordination meetings as required.
  • Support construction Supervisors to manage and coordinate the construction works and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractor progress and support resolution of any commercial matters. 
  • Oversee all aspects of Safety, Environmental and Quality across the scope of works.
  • Manage costs associated with scope of work including managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Program management, including maintaining and tracking a 6 month look ahead and provide monthly input into program updates.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Equivalent
  • Previous industry experience working within a project orientated team on a major civil construction/infrastructure project. 
  • Solid understanding of client specifications.
  • Ability to interpret designs for construction implementation. 
  • Experience with managing work programs and performance of teams and subcontractors.
  • Proven verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and ability to develop and maintain diverse stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated commitment to project values and behaviours.
