Introduction to role

The Process Solutions CoE within Global Business Services (GBS) has been established to deliver data and digital services to AstraZeneca and lower costs to serve.

The Process Mining team have established themselves as a pivotal advanced analytics capability that can unlock processing capacity and value at AstraZeneca through automated process discovery, analytics, and automated decision-support workflows.  We drive data-led process performance improvements by transforming digital process data into process models using sophisticated process mining techniques. Custom analyses & workflows are built using these process models to generate the business insights needed to drive process performance improvements.

We are looking for a Process Mining Consultant to join the Process Mining team as we scale the capability and deliver process mining (Celonis) solutions across AstraZeneca.

Main duties and responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Celonis Process Mining Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging Celonis technology to analyze, visualize, and optimize our business processes. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.

  • Independently lead the utilization of Celonis process mining fundamentals to analyze, visualize, and optimize end-to-end business processes.
  • Identify and connect to various data sources across AstraZeneca (API, data warehouses, data lakes) and act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to junior consultants and cross-functional teams on process mining best practices and methodologies.
  • Identify required data sources, support extraction and transformation (ETL) within the Process Mining platform and drive the development and implementation of advanced process optimization strategies based on Celonis insights and industry best practices.
  • Proactively identify and address complex process inefficiencies and improvement opportunities, leveraging advanced Celonis functionalities.
  • Implement data extractions & transformations (SQL, Python)
  • Develop custom process data models using process mining techniques.
  • Build analytics views and dashboards (using PQL i.e. Process Query Language)
  • Champion the continuous improvement of process mining methodologies and tools, staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.

Essential requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable degree
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in IT Services, Management Consulting, Business Process Reengineering, Digital Transformation, or similar areas, with at least 1-3 years at a renowned strategy consultancy.
  • Fluency with relational databases using SQL queries.
  • Proven experience in process mining and analysis using Celonis or similar process mining tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to be able to discover, analyse and draw insight from complex data sets
  • Knowledge of at least 1 functional area processes (Finance, HR etc.) and related Source System datasets is nice to have.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders daily.
  • Energetic, organised and self-motivated
  • Experience with source code version control and issue tracking (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Python programming skills appreciated but not required.
