Description

We are in need of a hands-on Pipe Fitting Foreman to add to our team at Master Boat Builders. The Pipe Fitting Foreman plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating pipe fitting activities on various projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in pipe fitting techniques, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a proven track record in pipe fitting to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our projects.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of pipe fitters: Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to the pipe fitting team to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Project planning and coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to plan and coordinate pipe fitting activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Quality assurance: Oversee the quality of pipe fitting work, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Safety compliance: Enforce and promote a culture of safety on the job site, ensuring that all pipe fitting activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Material and resource management: Manage the procurement and allocation of materials and resources required for pipe fitting projects.
  • Problem-solving: Address and resolve any challenges or issues that may arise during the pipe fitting process, ensuring that projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Hands On: This role is very hands on and will require daily presence and work in the yard to ensure the completion of assigned tasks.
Requirements


Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in pipe fitting, with a demonstrated track record of success in leading a team.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Leadership skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve project goals.
  • Safety consciousness: Commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Technical expertise: In-depth knowledge of pipe fitting techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in pipe fitting or related fields are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, such as pipes, fittings, and tools.
  • Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, which will include standing, kneeling, crouching, and working in confined spaces. Manual Dexterity
  • Precise hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are essential for handling and fitting pipes accurately.
  • Use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment may require skilled manipulation.
  • Agility and flexibility are important for navigating through complex job sites and accessing confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or structures as needed.
  • Good vision is crucial for reading blueprints, measuring, and ensuring the accurate alignment of pipes and fittings.
  • Tolerance for working in various weather conditions, as pipe fitters may work outdoors and in different climates.
  • Adaptability to working in environments with high temperatures, humidity, or other challenging conditions.
  • Clear verbal communication is important for effective collaboration with team members, supervisors, and other workers on the job site.
