Position: Full Time , Operations Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

This is a senior management and leadership role which require an experienced and hands-on candidate with a minimum tertiary education ( B.Sc in Engineering, Applied Science) and 15 years proven track record in an equipment manufacturing facility. 

The incumbent candidate would have direct reports from Materials, Quality, Manufacturing, Production and Customer Service with business partners (BP) from HR and WHS, Finance and IT, Engineering.  In addition, there is a strong collaboration with the Centre of Excellence leaders in the Global Manufacturing Business Units. Previous experience with global exposure would be an asset along with competency of second language(s).  This is an excellent opportunity for career advancement to a global platform.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manag a diversified workforce of approximately 70 employees with 35 skilled workforce in Mechanical and Electrical and hot works fabrication and 35 overhead staff.
  • To enable and ensure a WorkSafe (OH&S) environment
  • To pursue Manufacturing Excellence in Delivery, Cost leadership, Quality and Service.
  • To nurture and cultivate a learning and collaboration team work with data driven approach in problem solving, solution focus with speed to deliver

Key deliverables results

  • Annual Operating Plan (AOP Financials), EE-Employees Engagement. Operations deliverables include Throughput (with 25% surplus capacity on AOP revenue) to fulfil sales orders commitment, on time delivery, Waste reduction (NVA), productivity and warranty reduction focusing on Correction and Preventative measures.  OM is required to participate in regional and global inter-plants BBP – Best business practice, NPI and VSM projects. 

Some travel is required. Off hours online meetings are required (1-2 times weekly or as required).  Special projects are a part of the Roles and Responsibilities of this Ops Manager.
