Landsmith Home Farm is a 300ha second generation, family run farm that forms a part of The Landsmith Collection. The farm puts locally grown and regenerative food production centre-stage, and is located just five minutes from Margaret River town centre.
The on-ground focus of this role is to assist in building a cattle breeder herd and managing grazing to build and maintain soil health and landscape function. The position will also support our extensive revegetation program and other seasonal, land management projects.

The Opportunity
Looking for a suitably qualified and dedicated farm hand for 30.4 hours per week, which includes some weekend & public holiday work.
You will join a motivated team with good support from some of Australia’s leading planned grazing practitioners. We are committed to building and improving team members, and will from time to time, offer paid training activities and workshops.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintain a safe working environment and contribute to a strong safety culture
• Implement a planned, high intensity/low frequency grazing program with multiple moves per day as required by the grass, animal health and the season
• Undertake regular, seasonal weed control across multiple properties
• Install electric fencing, gates and permanent or semi-permanent fencing
• Undertake repairs and maintenance of all tools, plant, equipment, and farm infrastructure, as directed
• Support the delivery of our onsite market garden, timber belt maintenance and tree planting projects, including occasional supervision of contractors for seasonal activities.
Attributes & Experience
• Previous farm hand experience with livestock
• Prior tractor operation experience
• Demonstrated fencing experience
• Coachable, dependable and willing to advance and share learnings
• Physically fit to perform manual work associated with farming, fencing, weed control and tree planting.
• Able to both take direction and work some periods without oversight.
Schedule
• The farm as a whole is operational seven days per week, and including public holidays.
• Regular weekend work is required as is public holiday work, however rosters are developed to allow for weekends off as well. Weekend work is typically shorter hours, and largely comprises cattle moves and welfare checks.
