Basic Job Functions:

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects site maintenance activities and maintaining the operation of a utility scale Solar power plant. Duties include but are not limited to the maintenance works which can include testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, commissioning, and modifying components such as solar modules, inverters, tracker motors, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems and ensuring operation is optimal from and viewable through the onsite SCADA.

Responsibilities are to ensure that the performance of all works is executed to a high standard of quality and that implementation and adherence to safety practices is everyone’s responsibility.

This position may require you to act as the primary responder to automated service calls generated by remote alarm notification systems and may at times include on-call 24/7 responsibilities.

The successful candidate should be capable to perform tasks without supervision, and capable to take over supervision of the facility in the absence of Site Supervisor or senior manager.

Experience:     

  • 2 years of experience in a related position or
  • Experience in operating and maintaining power plant electrical systems, SCADA and controls systems operation, troubleshooting advanced electrical components, and using procedures to perform equipment preventative and corrective maintenance preferred.

 Education:

  • A Valid Electrical Supervisors or Contractors licence in the relevant state or territory
  • Relevant Safety Certifications (White Card)
  • A valid Drivers Licence
  • Valid First Aid & Low Voltage (LV) Rescue training certificate

 

Required skills:

  • Knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards.
  • Understanding of and ability to follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety and environmental
  • procedures.
  • Must have a safety background with experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis
  • Working knowledge of industrial or power facility operation and maintenance
  • Understanding of local and national electrical codes.
  • Basic ability to perform testing and troubleshooting of medium voltage and high voltage equipment, including transformers, potential transformers, current transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, motors, and inverters.
  • Familiar with CMMS systems for maintenance tracking.
  • Proven computer skills in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office Products) is required.
  • Must possess good English oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Self-directed and accountable, able to think critically about processes and issues.

 Essential Responsibilities:

•  Ensure a safe work environment by promoting strict adherence to company protocols

•  Oversee personnel in the field and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.

•  Perform and document training on and ensure compliance to Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Brief and 

Lock-Out- Tag-Out procedures.

•  Train personnel in safety, environmental and procedural requirements.

•  Communicate effectively with remote operators

•  Assist in planning and executing on-site projects, installations, commissioning, quality 

inspections, and performance testing.

•  Assist with writing and enforcing work and equipment testing instructions and procedures, 

including normal and maintenance operating procedures.

•  Ensure work orders are complete per requirements

•  Ensure all documentation and required reports are reviewed, complete, submitted and 

filed.

•  Communicate cross-functionally across all necessary parts of the organization to achieve 

resolution to plant issues.

•  Attend, participate in and pass all assigned training in safety, environmental and other areas 

as assigned

•  Maintain work area and site housecleaning a high professional standard.

•  Other duties as assigned

 

Travel:

  • Travel will be required depending on the needs of the region.
