We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter (with Australian Mechanical Fitter Trade) to join our team as a Field Service Technician in Perth.  Not the traditional fitter role, being field based, you will work across multiple customer sites gaining exposure to the latest technology and automation. You'll thrive on troubleshooting and servicing mechanical equipment, supported by a team that generously shares their expertise—empowering you to become a true hero of industrial maintenance.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

You'll play a vital role in providing 24/7 national support, covering contract repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and emergency breakdown services for Dematic customers in the Perth region.

Hours of Work: this position will require participation in an on-call roster and due to production constraints with some customers - will require availability to work overtime on weekends and public holidays as needed.

Tasks and Qualifications:

SETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS REQUIRES

  • Demonstrated experience: troubleshooting & problem-solving equipment faults within a maintenance environment

  • Mechanical Fitter trade qualifications (mandatory)

  • Restricted Electrical licence, or ‘A’ Grade Electrical License (would be highly advantageous)

  • PLC experience: Siemens S7 and/or Scada WIN CC

  • Experience: automation environments (conveyors) and material handling equipment (advantageous)

  • Experience: computerised maintenance systems (MEX, Maximo, SAP)

  • Experience: pneumatic systems and components

  • Experience: hydraulic systems and components

  • Maintenance experience: high speed production facilities,

  • Exposure: welding repairs, machining, repair and replacement of electro-mechanical components

  • Ability to work unsupervised, make decisions and be results driven

  • Current driver’s license

  • Strong customer focus and attention to detail with all tasks

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics

  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and in a team
