Location: Louisville, CO

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (eligible for OT)
Wage Range:  $33-38+/hour (Depending on experience)

Job Description:
Reporting to the Labor Manager, the Field Foreman will carry out all directives from the respective Labor Manager and work closely with the Project Team to ensure all projects are completed according to the project documents, adhering to the project budget and the planned schedule. This position is also responsible for understanding all aspects of project documentation and installation of their respective trades.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the project team to ensure we are familiar with contract inclusions, scope of work, proposal, and any accepted value engineering options 
  • Know your plans, specifications, contract schedule, and budget
  • Ensure your team is familiar with and using the most current set of contract documents, including all mechanical/plumbing details 
  • Be familiar with budgeted hours and work with the project manager and team members to identify and implement any cost-saving strategies. Work with the project manager for change order pricing, ensuring we are capturing all costs. Utilize prefabrication. Know and understand your crew cost
  • Make sure you are aware of schedule changes and make necessary adjustments to manpower and material needs. Work directly with the project manager to develop and maintain a 3-week manpower look ahead and update weekly
  • Ensure Design Mechanical's core values are always implemented and that the company's safety policies and procedures are always followed
  • Ensure that systems are installed to the highest degree of quality and functionality
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with clients, vendors, and colleagues. Provide solutions when called upon. Deliver a quality product on time and within budget
  • Communicate expectations and expect accountability. When expectations are not being met, address the issue with the individual to determine appropriate action, training, or disciplinary action
  • Ensure crews are properly laid out, organized, and productive
  • Attend all appropriate meetings, including pre-plan and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Work with project managers to pre-plan your project and understand specific equipment & materials being used
  • Take an active role in the BIM/CAD process:
  • If the project is modeled, work closely with the CAD department to ensure we are using the right products and producing a buildable model
  • Create a prefabrication plan with the prefab coordinator and the fab shop. Create and maintain a batching schedule with the CAD department and the fab shop
  • Be sure we are using the most current information from the BIM coordination and always reference contract drawings
  • Implement and maintain a QA/QC plan. Ensure that all systems are installed per plans, specifications, and current and local codes
  • Ensure all systems requiring testing are tested and documented
  • Ensure that all systems are installed to the highest quality and functionality standards
  • Ensure that project is properly documented with daily reports, pressure testing reports, enter crew members' time, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings throughout the project
  • Request appropriate inspections and documents appropriately

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Journeyman license in respective trade (Pipefitting)
  • Foreman will have 3-5+ years of experience running commercial mechanical projects ranging from $1-10M in value
  • Computer skills required, with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective interpersonal skills are required for a strong representation of DMI customers as well as employees
  • Valid CO Driver’s License and Clear MVR
