About the Role

Are you an experienced farm hand with a love for rural life? Seaspray is looking for a dedicated individual to take on a live-in caretaker role with part-time responsibilities as a farm hand. This is a fantastic opportunity to embrace the farm lifestyle in a beautiful setting!

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the upkeep and security of all property grounds
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and land to ensure everything is in safe, working order
  • Handle basic repairs and general maintenance tasks around the property
  • Assist in the daily care, feeding, and monitoring of cattle health and well-being
  • Perform cattle handling, including moving, sorting, and monitoring cattle in alignment with best practices
  • Coordinate with veterinarians as needed to maintain animal health and wellness
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct fencing as required to ensure the security and safety of livestock and property
  • Operate farm machinery and tools safely and effectively, performing basic equipment checks and maintenance
  • Aid in maintaining clean and organised barns, sheds, and storage areas
  • Clear debris, fallen branches, and other hazards to keep all pathways and work areas safe

About You

  • Farm Experience Required
  • Comfortable working around livestock and performing farm duties
  • Skilled in safe and effective cattle handling and demonstrate strong cattle knowledge
  • Able to maintain and repair fencing as needed
  • Works well independently and has a proactive approach to caretaking
