Position Overview:

As the Shop Foreman, you will be the cornerstone of our workshop operations. Your role will be to oversee daily activities, mentor and manage a team of talented technicians, ensure that all service work meets our high standards, and to diagnose and repair vehicles. You will work closely with our Fixed Operations Director to drive efficiency, maintain quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.

 

Pay:

Total compensation of $125,000 - $145,000 depending on skill and experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the workshop team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
  • Review repair orders, providing technical guidance and support to technicians.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles, including challenging repairs.
  • Train and mentor technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles in the shop to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of tools, ensuring the shop is well-stocked and organized.
  • Collaborate with the Service Writers and Fixed Operations Director to develop and implement shop procedures and best practices.
  • Address and resolve any customer concerns or complaints related to service work.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including timekeeping and job documentation.
 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Working Shop Foreman or similar leadership role in an automotive service environment, preferably with Volvo vehicles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • ASE certification or equivalent preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
