Summary Directs job site plumbing crew to complete jobs assigned by performing the following duties. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Safety is always first. An OSHA 10 is a prerequisite for employment. We can / will provide access at our expense to the class. However, time spent taking the class will not be paid. Individuals are expected to prioritize safety of themselves and others. Foremen are expected to lead by example.

  • Complete all safety related documentation/training.
  • Monitors/corrects/ensures construction quality. The foreman is expected to lead by example and set the tone for a high level of quality.
  • Directs all on site plumbing construction activities.
  • Coordinates all crew travel and lodging.
  • Directs morning/lunch/afternoon breaks.
  • Inventories plumbing components and steel structures on job site and reports any shortfalls or excess on a timely basis (such that shortfalls will not impact productivity)
  • Ensures all crewmen are active and productive.
  • Assesses construction progress weekly and provide oral report at foreman meeting.
  • Maintains liaison with customers and vendors.
  • Maintains an accurate accounting and accountability of man hours spent on project.
  • Maintains an accurate accounting of operational expenses spent on job site.
  • Estimates and maintains effective control of project and cost, for review and approval by General Manger.
  • Assumes complete plumbing construction responsibility.
  • Meets with management annually to review manpower budgets.
  • Responsible to keep work area clean and free of debris on a daily basis.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads plumbing construction crew of two to eight people.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to work required hours (can exceed 10 hours per day)
  • Ability to work in outside weather conditions year round
  • Ability to lift up to 90 lbs
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, squat, reach overhead in a field environment
  • Ability to work with and beside a construction team

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Must be able to pass company welding test.  High school education; or up to three years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Up to two year process plumbing experience.  Must have valid driving license/ CDL preferred.

Language and Mathematical Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’ and 100’s.  Ability to perform these calculations using units of measurement, weight and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions.
