About the role

As a Trainee Tyre Fitter, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in the maintenance and fitting of tyres for mining trucks and heavy vehicles. This is a full-time position offering extensive on-the-job training to build your skills in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. 

Our Lake Vermont Project located is situated in Dysart, Central Queensland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the removal, inspection, and fitting of tyres for mining trucks, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
  • Learn to diagnose tyre-related issues and assist in repairing and replacing tyres.
  • Maintain and repair tyre-fitting equipment and tools.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, safe working environment at all times.
  • Work closely with senior tyre fitters to develop your technical skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safety and operational standards.

What we are looking for:

  • A strong interest in mechanical work and heavy machinery.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy tyres and tools.
  • Willingness to complete a competency course (Tyre Fitting)
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a mining environment.
  • A good attitude towards safety, teamwork, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in a manual labour role is advantageous but not essential.
  • A current driver’s licence
