Your New Job The Position: Tower Foreman possess more than 5 years of experience that supports installing infrastructure equipment on telecommunication broadcast towers. As a Tower Foreman you will be expected to lead your crew in the construction, installation, and maintenance of communication towers and support structures. Along with performing the hands-on field work, the Tower Foreman is expected to manage his crew members, provide feedback to managers, help mentor newer technicians, and continue to help grow True North Management Services.
The Tower Foreman will be responsible for developing and planning complete site builds and identifying change orders, obstacles, and safety concerns that may impede SOW timeline. Most Tower crews spend most of their working time at significant elevations (100’ and above) and this position does require significant amount of travel during the work week (Monday through Friday). True North provides on the job training and new certifications will be provided during your employment.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Technician manages the safety and performance of a crew of 2-4 Tower Technicians
Technician is accountable to hold the position of competent person onsite.
Technician leads by example and ensures all crew members are utilizing proper PPE.
Technician manages the safety and performance of a crew of 2-4 Tower Technicians
Must be able to maintain a professional relationship towards employees, management, clients, tower owners and the public. Must be an ambassador for CWS.
Technician ensures all safety supplies, and first aid kits are available and in working order. Ensure that rescue kits are ready and available, at the base of the tower, in case of emergency. Must ensure all employees maintain 100% tie off. Must ensure water is readily available for all crew members. Must ensure all weather conditions are dealt with safely and responsibly.
Technician ensures all trash and debris is stored in a professional manner on site.
Technician is competent to allocate tasks to employees, ensuring construction is progressing at an appropriate pace and that quality work is being delivered to CWS and industry standards.
Technician can ensure all material and assets are available before construction start.
Technician is competent to deliver daily updates to project managers and ensure all close out documents are delivered to the appropriate CWS staff.
Technician is responsible to maintain accurate inspection of all ropes, rigging and PFAS equipment before each use.
Technician ensures all crew members have the appropriate hour’s clocked onsite and approves time appropriately.
Technician maintains assigned vehicles and trailers and ensure they are in a professional/presentable condition.
Technician ensures company tools and test equipment are taken care of, accounted for, and stored properly.
Technician ensures a JSA is filled out every morning by all employees and all who are onsite. Must ensure all JSA’s are delivered to the appropriate CWS staff.
Technician can troubleshoot any issues by utilizing all test equipment.
Technician is proficient in the use of the capstan hoist and is knowledgeable in rigging.
Technician is competent in reading and understanding construction drawings.
Technician is competent to log in and out with tower owners and clients. Must understand the different policies associated with every tower owner and client. Must abide by all said policies and ensure others do so as well.
Successfully train and mentor Tower Tech I’s, Tower Tech II’s, and Tower Top Hands to provide the highest quality work in an efficient manner while upholding safety at the highest level.
Possess acceptable time management, people management, and leadership skills.
Continually shows company support by following and enforcing all company policies and procedures.
Technician strives to provide a quality install.
Technician is reliable and punctual.
Technician practices accurate timekeeping skills.
Technician continually and timely completes credit card transactions.
