PAY RANGE: $40+/hr DOE
OVERVIEW:
The Aggregate Service Foreman is responsible for coordinating the workload of the Aggregate service department and to ensure that there is efficient use of time, space, and equipment. With the best interest of the service department in mind, this person will help to advise our customers on their work orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, manage, and hold service team accountable while ensuring compliance with all safety requirements
- Work with the Service Manager on customer calls and scheduling and controlling the labor required to perform repairs for customers and warranty jobs
- Perform or direct walk around inspections of components/equipment for repair/re-manufacturing needs
- Prepare estimates from inspection or analysis and communicate with the machine owner to get approval of work to be done and the progress of repairs
- Open work orders for customer jobs and work with Sales Support for sales jobs necessary to perform the work required
- Work with Credit Specialists to ensure customer’s available credit or collect payment as required
- Work with technicians and parts department on purchase of parts and outside materials needed
- Help coordinate sublet repairs
- Assist field and shop technicians in repair circumstances and provide the technical assistance necessary to develop diagnostic, safe, clean, efficient and effective high-quality work
- Perform final inspections once repairs are complete
- Review each work order for accuracy before closing (labor posting, sublet repairs, internal & external parts, etc.)
- Work to minimize unapplied time, update the electronic scheduler as needed to maintain technician work loads
- Ensure that all shop tools and equipment required to perform repairs are kept in good and safe operating conditions and make recommendations to the Service Manager for new tooling purchases
- Ensure that equipment service manuals are properly maintained and current
- Maintain a clean and safe shop environment and replenish shop supplies as needed. Also work with Service Manager for the entire service department ensuring the best interests of General Equipment are represented in the areas of price, service, and quality with our outside vendors.
- Make recommendations to the Service Manager regarding employee performance reviews and salary reviews of service personnel at least annually
- Responsible for the morale and discipline of the aggregate personnel working within company policies, including termination, if necessary
- Attend local, regional, and national training as needed
- Attend General Equipment meetings as needed
- Assist in all aspects of operating the Aggregate service department and perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- 2-year technical degree in diesel technology or management or equivalent experience
- Extensive heavy aggregate equipment background preferred
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Solid shop floor management knowledge and management training preferred
- An above average computer comfort level to work with Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, MS Outlook, and Distributor Operating systems
- Must have a positive mental attitude
