Queensland Rail is looking for a collaborative people leader and problem-solver on a full time basis to join our Career Pathways & Training Integration team. This is an exciting opportunity to define and shape a new team to provide a centralised training planning & scheduling service for the business as part of our new Learning Operating Model at Queensland Rail!

You will enjoy the opportunity to partner with External Training Providers and Training Delivery Teams within Queensland Rail to develop, maintain and implement an enterprise training plan that meets the needs of our business. Along with providing specialist advice and support when required, you will:

  • Build a team from the ground up to redefine and redesign a proactive and efficient approach to scheduling of training that is delivered by External Training Providers to QR Employees.
  • Source and analyse data to inform and build annual training plans that service all of Queensland Rail.
  • Develop robust processes and supporting tools with automated workflows to streamline the Planning & Scheduling function.
  • Support and develop your team from a place of care whilst continuously building internal capability.

The ideal candidate

This role is for someone who is a strong leader who enjoys problem solving and has a passion for thinking outside the box to develop and improve work processes in their day-to-day. In addition, you will have:

  • High level of interpersonal and influencing skills to build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships with varying stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, providing guidance and support to develop a team to deliver on business requirements.
  • High level of analytics ability to understand data to make it meaningful and relevant for evidence-based decision-making and planning.
  • High levels of capability and confidence using Microsoft Excel and the wider MS 365 Suite is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar training planning/scheduling/rostering function is advantageous, but not necessary.
