Job Description
Job Title: Para Loft Rigger
Department: Operations
Reports to: COO with direct supervision from Master Rigger
Location: DeLand, FL
SUMMARY
Inventory, clean, inspect, pack, maintain and store all personnel, cargo, bundle parachutes and associated air items equipment. Provides rigger training, pack in progress checks and assistance to staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observe and provide Pack in Progress Inspections for Military Parachutists and Riggers using the proper techniques for packing, rigging, maintaining and employing approved parachute systems
- Maintain military and FAA required records of all parachute equipment and associated items
- Maintain parachute equipment and associated air items in an air-worthy state as needed
- Fabricate and assemble all air operations materials and rigging components
- Assist Shipping/Receiving department with incoming inspections of customer orders as needed
- Repair or replace air operations equipment
- Use and maintain machines and tools for fabrication, modification, and repair of parachutes and other air operations equipment
- Travel as required in support of CPS operations
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as directed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, general public and public officials.
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly and juggle multiple competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills for building strong customer relationships and working with all levels of management
Education and Experience
- Manufacturer Endorsements/Certifications recommended
- Prior military service and training experience a plus
- Must have the ability to obtain a FAA Senior Rigger Certificate
- Sewing machine maintenance/repair experience and certification preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and interprets technical procedures and Manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate gross margin and other financial formulas as needed.
Reasoning Ability
It is expected that the incumbent will be able to work in a proactive manner, address issues, and solve problems.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements of the Position
This is a full-time position working four, ten hour days. Work hours/days may vary or change based on departmental requirements.
Job is performed in an open climate control area. The area has additional padding on the floor for comfort.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, handle, or feel objects, or controls and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, bend, and kneel for periods of time. The employee is regularly required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
