The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a long-term position in the Freeport, Texas area:
PAINT / SCAFFOLD FOREMAN
Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as a Supervisor and/or General Foreman in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe execution of work assigned to crew(s)
- Assuring all employees comply with safety procedures
- Conducting safety meetings
- Examining equipment and tools to assure their integrity and safe use; and all other safety related items required during performance of the work
- Erecting and breaking down scaffolds.
- Knowing the responsibilities and techniques associated with proper construction of scaffolds
- Hoist and lower materials in a safe and timely manner during the dismantling and erection of scaffolds
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications using paddle or mechanical mixer
- Prepares surface using method appropriate for surface to be painted
- Apply paint to surface using a spray gun, brush, or roller
- Responsible for furnishing complete and accurate information with respect to timesheet, job progress reports, etc.
- Responsible for assuring that work of employees meets minimum acceptable standards
- Assures that materials are at the job site when required
- Assists in planning, estimating, and scheduling as requested, and performs personnel related activities (evaluation, discipline, etc.) as required by contractor
Essential Job Functions:
The Paint / Scaffold Foreman has overall responsibility for coordinating maintenance planning and scheduling of work with Mundy and customer site personnel. The Paint / Scaffold Foreman directly supervise the supervisors of crews consisting of various crafts and must coordinate planning for each job with a constant focus on safety, quality, productivity, employee relations and costs. The Paint / Scaffold Foreman has leadership responsibilities for the first line supervisors under their direction and a direct supervisory responsibility for the direction and personal development of their assigned employees.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
A Paint / Scaffold Foreman must have a working knowledge of the industry served by the Mundy Companies and experience in the crafts or maintenance services to be supervised. They must consistently maintain a distinguished record of safety performance and must have the ability to plan, organize, coordinate and execute work projects and schedules. Unquestioned integrity coupled with a demonstrated dedication to the Mundy Companies values and vision is mandatory for anyone in this position. Foremen must have superior leadership qualities as well as management ability and must possess good human resources skills. Good written and verbal communications skills are a required. Basic computer software knowledge is also required.

This positions requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.
