About the Role
Our Bayswater Maintenance Facility is currently seeking Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) or Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Technicians with either mechanical or electrical expertise to join our team and work on wheel motors. This permanent, full-time role offers a Monday to Friday schedule (6\:00 am – 2\:30 pm) with opportunities for overtime.
Your Responsibilities as an HME/OHV Technician:
Disassembling, inspecting, requalifying, assembling, and testing HME/OHV wheel motors.
Measuring and inspecting critical journals and key components
Cleaning and conducting requalification inspections on bearings, gears, and other mechanical parts
Working collaboratively in a supportive team that values diversity and fresh perspectives
Actively participating in a safe and inclusive work environment
Contributing to UGL’s One HSE culture, which prioritizes safety, health, and environmental sustainability
About You
We believe diverse experiences and perspectives fuel our success. To thrive in this role, you will have:
A trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical fields, such as Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter, or Electrical Fitter
Experience in HME maintenance (Komatsu 930, 830, 730, CAT MT4400) or component overhauls (wheel motors, traction motors, gearboxes, hoists, spindles)
Overhead crane experience.
Basic measuring skills using Micrometer
Strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to continuous learning
Experience with industrial gearboxes, brakes, wheel motors is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
A valid driver’s licence
