Position Summary:
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager - ANZ to join our expanding team based in Scoresby, Melbourne. This role will have a significant impact on shaping the ThermoFisher ANZ technological landscape and advancing the development of its diverse, global team. The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing needs. You will be an essential member of a cross-functional distributed team that plays a crucial role in driving transformation and growth within this exciting field. It's a pivotal role for our company's progress and plays an important role in streamlining processes to enhance service delivery, improved IT infrastructure, and user experience.
Role Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy and Leadership:
- Collaborate with IT Director, SLT, ELT, and various global IT teams to identify and prioritise initiatives and changes to technology that support local ANZ business strategy.
- Provide leadership to the technology team, cultivating skill development and cohesion.
- Maintain day-to-day supervision of technology operations, ensuring optimal performance of systems and networks connectivity.
- Lead and mentor the Service Desk team, cultivating a culture of innovation, accountability, community, and reliability.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives using emerging technologies to improve business processes, efficiency, and customer and employee experience.
Financial and Vendor Management:
- Lead the IT budget, resources, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimization and manage the vendor relationship, procurement, and contract review/renewals.
Infrastructure and Security Management:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems across ANZ sites.
- Support cybersecurity and information security global initiatives and implementation of policies, procedures, user awareness, and protocols to protect company data and assets.
- Plan, install, configure, and maintain hardware, systems, and software, ensuring scalability to business needs.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems and services through robust monitoring and maintenance within the IT team.
Project Delivery:
- Lead the successful execution of technology projects, from evaluation to deployment, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget alignment, and employ organisational change strategies to drive technology adoption
Skills and Experience:
Ideally your skills will include:
- Min 5-10 yrs within a similar role where you were leading and mentoring a team including responsibility for performance management
- Good communication - both written and verbal
- A natural problem solver and strong relationship builder
- Strong hands-on technical skills within infrastructures (AWS/Azure, Cloud, cyber security (Crowdstrike/Qualys) and 2FA
- Experience with budget management
- Project and vendor management
- Strong administration and critical incident/issue management
- Experience working with multiple offices site/branch, warehouses, third-party locations
- Experience working within a global, matrixed corporate environment
