About the role:
Based in Tullamarine VIC, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their friendly team
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain all aspects of a vehicle to relevant transport legislation and standards
Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance services.
Action all driver daily vehicle reports (DVR) and file as required.
Perform fault diagnostics to detect mechanical and electrical faults
Test drive and/or operate equipment to ensure repair has been completed correctly.
Ensure all equipment is safe to use and stored correctly
Skills and experience:
Certificate III Automotive-Mechanical-Heavy Vehicle Road Transport
Heavy Rigid license (as a minimum)
Demonstrated supervisory experience with ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
A strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety
Proven experience servicing and maintaining heavy vehicles
About you:
Experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a focus on training and mentoring
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and related systems
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of the job
Willing to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
Waste industry experience is not essential.
