This is a craft labor position that is expected to execute daily tasks across solar sites to assemble and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This position is responsible for management of a solar installation crew of two to four direct reports while working alongside crew to ensure proper installation processes are being followed.
This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Follow all safety policies and procedures while assisting with various daily tasks including, but not limited to, Layout, Piles, Racking, Modules, Unloading, Erosion Control, QC, and other mechanical construction tasks
- Responsible use of a company assigned vehicle to ensure crew is onsite and accounted for
- Delegate assigned tasks to your crew members.
- Conduct daily morning safety meeting with your assigned crew members and ensure detailed JSA’s (Job Safety Analysis) are properly filled out and hazards are communicated.
- Use necessary tools and equipment to assemble and construct solar photovoltaic systems.
- Follow scheduled work plans and install manuals, at all times.
- Ensure all tools used for installation are in proper working condition and are returned to the designated location at the completion of each shift
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system issues, damage, and safety risks.
- Complete daily inspections where required.
- Responsible for material staging for daily tasks.
- Institute a continuous improvement culture on site
- Communicate daily production to mechanical foreman along with any issues that cannot be resolved at the field level.
- When authorized to operate equipment, fill out equipment checklists and verify all items are in good working order before and after use.
- Conduct daily reporting and status updates to mechanical foreman at the end of every shift.
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned job site areas to ensure install manuals are being followed and report any issues observed.
- Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated, and optimized.
- Ability to concentrate on learning different systems and correct terminology for each.
- Able to work safely around energized parts and equipment.
- Properly demonstrate safe lifting skills
- Help to execute a safety culture that has 100% engagement with the field team and practice core company values throughout projects.
- Ability to work well with others and in a team environment.
- All other duties assigned by Site Leadership
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver license
- Experience with Solar construction projects required
- Experience using various types of tools and equipment required
- Experience operating skid steers, telehandlers, lull, forklift, GRT’s, PD10’s preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- Ability to travel 100% of the time to multiple site locations across the country

- Must be able to operate various hand-held tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
- Must have the endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight (8) or ten (10) hour day according to the schedule and meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency.
- Be on time and ready to work at the start of each standard shift.
- Must always wear personnel protective equipment. (i.e., Hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses, ear protection, fire retardant clothing, as required) and respirators when required.
