Role Description:

Today our team is seeking a talented individual to join in a full-time permanent role as a Foreman - Fit Ups and Renovations.  They will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of building renovations, upgrades, and maintenance projects across multiple properties. This role requires a leader with strong project management skills who can coordinate teams, handle budgets, and ensure all renovations and upgrades are completed on time and within scope. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction, building maintenance, and experience in high-rise and multi-unit residential. In addition to the duties typically expected of a professional in this type of role, we are seeking a passionate and experienced maintenance / renovation professional with a focus on excellence, attention to detail, and a genuine care for the residents and communities we serve.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality and safety standards.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and manage project teams, including subcontractors, and team members. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals involved in the project. Foster a team environment that emphasizes quality and respect for the living spaces we are improving.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Quality Control and Safety: Oversee all aspects of construction to ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections. Take pride in delivering work that reflects our commitment to excellence.
  • Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for residents, property managers and stakeholders. Communicate with respect and empathy for residents, providing regular updates on project progress and ensuring minimal disruption to their daily lives.
  • Cost Management: Monitor project expenses, approve invoices, and manage change orders to ensure the project stays within the agreed budget.
  • Permitting and Compliance: Ensure all required permits and licenses are obtained and that the project complies with local regulations and zoning laws.
  • Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise during the renovation process, including unforeseen delays, budget overruns, or technical challenges.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is not only experienced in residential construction and maintenance, but also takes pride in their work and understands the importance of improving living spaces for the well-being of residents. This includes a strong commitment to craftsmanship, care, and attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred but not required with relevant experience.

  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
    • Budgeting, scheduling, and financial management experience.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Must be legally able to work in Canada and pass a criminal record check.

We are an on-site crew 5 days a week.  We sometimes work late to make sure we meet our deliverables, so the ability to work flexible and irregular hours is required.
