The Randall’s Mill is a 1.3Mtpa processing facility based at Silver Lake’s Mount Monger Operations, 80km Southeast of Kalgoorlie. With a 3-stage crushing circuit, dual Ball mills, gravity separation and CIL circuit, it is maintained at an exceptional 98% availability inclusive of planned shutdown events. With varied underground and open pit ore sources, the Randall’s Mill is a stable and consistently performing asset.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Fixed Plant Fitter to join the close-knit Maintenance team at the Randall’s processing Facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will have responsibility for carrying out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance to mechanical equipment in the processing plant, bore fields and site infrastructure. Your safety-focus and collaborative approach will ensure that plant equipment is maintained at a high level of availability at all times, while contributing to a cohesive work environment.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a fantastic team, working an 8:6 roster DIDO residential in Kalgoorlie / Kambalda. You will be required to work an "on-call" roster approximately every 3rd - 4th swing, and Kalgoorlie / Kambalda residents will be housed in the Randall’s camp for that period.

This position is open to Kalgoorlie and Kambalda residents only.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and working within site safety structures;
  • Preparation of JHA’s and Take 5’s prior to commencing any tasks;
  • Participating in scheduled reviews of current SOP’s;
  • Regular maintenance on crushing circuit, which includes Jaw crusher, secondary & tertiary cone crushers, as well as screens and conveyors;
  • Regular maintenance of the milling circuit equipment, including mills, conveyors, Knelsons, and Acacias, scheduled slurry pump rebuilds, valves, hydraulic systems, and pipework.
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs to ancillary plant such as Bore fields and Tails water return facility pumps;
  • Conducting regular scheduled PM tasks and completing detailed fault descriptions for corrective maintenance tasks to be developed.

ABOUT YOU:

As an experienced Fixed-Plant Mechanical Fitter, you will bring a level head and calm approach when problem-solving. You are personable and inclusive and can develop excellent working relationships with your team, other departments, and contractors. You will be able to anticipate needs and react quickly to ensure all plant equipment is functional, as well as manage multiple demands on your time in a calm and considered manner.

You can have the following experience:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter)
  • 5+ years post apprenticeship mine site experience would be desirable
  • Experience in using Pronto maintenance systems and recording and reporting history on plant and equipment would be preferred
  • Experience with fault-finding in pump and hydraulic systems is highly valued. A methodical and resourceful approach to troubleshooting is essential.
  • High level of experience with general fitting activities in a gold processing plant
  • Possess a high-risk work license for EWP, forklift, digging, scaffolding, and CN Franna (desirable).
  • Licensed in poly welding, confined space work, and work at heights are highly regarded.
  • Hold a current C Class driver’s license and Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Working knowledge of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
