About this opportunity

The primary purpose is to maintain, service and set up mould tooling for production requirements at VIP Packaging Brendale, as directed by the Toolroom Supervisor

Job Description

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Safety and Quality   

  • Engage in relevant WHS campaigns that actively drive a culture of behavioural safety and preventative safety measures and activities.  
  • Maintain quality standards and controls to manufacture and produce packaging solutions that meet customer expectations and requirements
  • Ensure that work is carried out in a safe working manner (Take5 & LOTO) and maintaining safe working environments.
  • Immediately report instances of near misses or incidents.

Reliability

  • Complete scheduled tasks as directed by the Toolroom Supervisor
  • Work independently at times but also as part of a team to achieve the best outcome for the business
  • Scope, complete, record and close out work using MEX Works Orders
  • Support the production team
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects to achieve improved Safety, Productivity, Quality & Reliability
  • Maintain spare parts inventory as required

  • Problem solving with a cost-effective solution that maximises production uptime

Key Deliverables / Business Outcomes

  • Maintain good serviceability of blow moulds and tooling for optimum production reliability.
  • Upgrade, improve moulds and tooling on a continuous basis.
  • Manufacture parts, modify parts in a safe manner to yourself and others

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience in blow moulding tooling maintenance, manufacture
  • Use of manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinder and powered tools in a safe responsible manner
  • Able to read and understand detailed engineering drawing.

Accreditation / Qualification Requirements

  • Trades qualified Fitter or equivalent
