About the Role

The Business Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising the day-to-day operations of our organisation, ensuring that all business functions run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyse current processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance productivity and operational effectiveness across the company. 

The Business Operations Manager will work closely with various departments, including Finance, People & Culture, IT, and Customer Success, to streamline operations, improve workflows, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role also involves managing resources, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. 

As a key member of the management team, the Business Operations Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s growth by aligning operational activities with business goals and driving initiatives that contribute to overall success. 

For Sydney-based staff, we offer a hybrid work model with three days in the office and two days working from home. For those based outside of Sydney, this role is fully remote. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily business operations, ensuring departmental efficiency and goal alignment.
  • Analyze and optimize processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate with department heads to streamline workflows and improve communication.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Monitor KPIs and metrics to drive data-informed decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. 
  • Proven experience in business operations with SaaS products, accompanied by a strong track record of managing and optimizing processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines consistently. 
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and maintaining financial discipline. 
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving operational excellence. 
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks, and a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards, with the ability to ensure that all operations adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements. 
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and addressing operational challenges before they impact business performance. 
  • Experience in project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and post-project evaluation, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope. 
  • Familiarity with business technologies and software, including ERP systems, CRM tools, and other operational platforms. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments, building strong relationships and fostering a culture of teamwork and shared success. 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining high standards in all aspects of work. 
  • Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to navigate change and lead teams through periods of transition or uncertainty.
