Job Description

Job Overview:
Supervises and participates in a two-person operation, maintaining cable communications connections at ground level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directs onsite work of one other employee in cable connections maintenance: assigns work, provides on-site training, and exercises leadership as the senior team member.

• Drives the lift truck to work site locations and operates the lift from inside the bucket.

• Sets out traffic cones and signs to establish a safe work zone, ensuring the effective location of cones and signs for maximum safety.

• Assures safe and appropriate location of flagger and direction of traffic around the work zone.

• Performs direct line maintenance, including repair or replacement of existing cable and hanging new cable TV lines, including fiber optic lines.

• Follows established safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and proper placement of traffic control measures to minimize exposure to roadway hazards.

• Alerts employees immediately of any apparent or developing hazards and takes appropriate action in the event of a worksite accident or incident.

• Maintains courteous interaction with the public, projecting a competent, professional image as part of Bowlin Services.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods.

• Ability to traverse uneven terrain, including road shoulders in various conditions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Proficiency in hanging and splicing TV cable, including fiber optic lines.

• Capability to train and supervise another employee in safe operations.

• Strong understanding and adherence to safety requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training preferred.

• Effective interaction with team members and the public.

• This position is subject to drug testing.


Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

  • Pay is competitive and depends on experience.
